Postcard from the Summit - A Long Climb in Thin Air

Climbing a fifty foot ladder then another fifty feet of stairs can be a nice workout. At 13,600 feet elevation, and more, the ladder can be a daunting challenge. I have been up and down these ladders a couple times. Always worth the climb, even in thin air, just for the view from the top.

Access ladders climbing the side of the Keck 2 dome, a tough climb at 13,600+ ft.

Nice pic. Iʻve been on the roof of the Subaru Telescope dozens of times, and although the climb is less exposed, quite rigorous just the same. I concur, the view from the top of an observatory dome on MK is spectacular.
