Two Years of Darker View

Today marks the second anniversary of Darker View. Well over 1,200 postings, and approaching the 100,000th visitor, Darker View is a more active place than I imagined when I first converted my old website to a blog. Regular website traffic is around 200-300 visits per day, added to somewhere around 50 RSS subscriptions. When one of my articles gets picked up and linked by a real interwebs nexis this can quickly soar above 1k visits per day for a few days, as has happened a couple times in the last month.

Hopefully my writing has proven interesting, but I know it is the photographs that have most of my regular readers returning day after day. A little feedback from my readers is always nice, if nothing else but to let me know what I should publish more of in the future.

Just wanted to let you know personally... that you are one of the persons that has inspired me to make sure I blog each and every day... Even if it is just a fluff blog piece.

Congratulations and thank you for the interesting articles! I stumbled upon your blog a few months ago when I was having a lot of trouble finding a web site that would identify which star I was seeing in the evening sky one night. You had the answer. Since then I read you every day, especially when I want to know something about the night sky - or if there is snow on Mauna Kea. Looking forward to many more fascinating articles. And inspiring photographs. Mahalo!
