Mercury and a Thin Moon

Mercury will meet up with a thin Moon, only 5% illuminated, tomorrow morning, February 11th. The Moon will be low in the SE sky, about 13° above the horizon at 06:30HST. Mercury will be the 2nd magnitude object about 4.5° below the Moon.

On the 12th the Moon will be below Mercury, 6° east and only 2% illuminated, challenging to spot only 5° off the horizon at 06:30HST.

Note- Unless otherwise noted times and positions are shown for the island of Hawai'i using Hawaiian Standard Time, 20°N latitude, 155°W longitude, for other locations most events listed will also be visible, but times and positions will vary, check a local reference or use a planetarium program to verify event details for your location
