Nēnē are often quite tame, one of the reasons they nearly became extinct. In this case a pair of nēnē was simply wandering through the people and vehicles parked at the Pua ‘Ākala Barn during the Hakalau NWR open house. At the end of the day six more swooped in over our heads to feed in the mown grass around the barn. Sitting targets for a clean shot...
