A Darker View

What do you shoot to break in a brand new camera? Something different? Something memorable? I thought about that for a few moments and came up with a solution. Roll a telescope out of the garage and shoot a few afocal lunar photos.

The first photo was not the best, a few moments later I had found better settings and a sharper focus. I set the white balance wrong and had to fix it in Photoshop. But it is still the first image out of the camera. So here is photo 0001 from my new toy...

My eagerly anticipated Canon G11 is now here, a box from Amazon was dropped off earlier today and waiting for me when I got home. My readers can look forward to a flood of photos and comments on the latest Canon compact semi-pro camera.

After nearly two months of waiting for the order to ship, I get to play with my new camera. Well... after I wait an hour for the battery to charge... Arrrgh!
