A Darker View

Not a very good photo, but the best I have so far of these shy creatures. Dive anywhere along Puako and head for the sand below the reef, there at 70ft or more you will find thousands of these fellows. Everywhere you look there are eels jutting from the sand, a garden of strange life that continues into the blue abyss beyond a diver's safety limits.

I need to plan a dive just to get photos of these eels, one where I am able to spend time and creep up on the eels. The books say you can do it...
