WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Ive never seen one of those. The hive seems to have a great assortment of them. How long was he(or she) Janet asks?
I was ckin on some new uw lava tubes(wai opai) on sunday and a unhappy Puhi gave me a wake up call as to where I should put my right hand
Just 7 stitches barely a scratch from him. A warning I think only. He was one of the biggest Ive seen here about 3 inches + across. He came right out to say hi rite after the confrontation.
No divin til tomoro. Gotta get me a pair of those meat cutter glove eh?
aloha
Ouch! Always worry a bit about the eels, they can be quite passive or aggressive. It is usually the camera I am sticking in their face with my hands safely at the back of hard plastic and aluminum.
The Blue Dragon was about four inches long, as big as I usually see them. They are not that uncommon on the Kona Coast, I see a few each year. At The Hive they were everywhere in the boulder field in front of the cave, dozens of them. Most were small, a couple inches long.

Hi Andrew, really nice picture. What camera did you use?.
A Canon G12 in an Ikelite case with a single strobe. Nice setup, not huge or fantastically expensive. The G12 is quite good at closeup work.
