With the eclipse looming it is time to highlight that post again.  Aiming your telescope or camera at the Sun can be a nuisance. Line up the dot on the target and the Sun should be neatly in your field of view.  Having used these devices many times, it really is that easy, Sun in view in seconds.<\/p>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_4547\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4547\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/darkerview.com\/wordpress\/?attachment_id=4547\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4547\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/darkerview.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/CE54-52-12154-DC-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Sun Finder\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-4547\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4547\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A sun finder in use with the projected dot visible<\/figcaption><\/figure>My version is a custom machined part made from aluminum and plexiglass.  In a crush a similar item can be made from cardboard and tape with a pair of scissors, and probably function just as well.<\/p>\n<p>I would suggest light cardboard, the type used in a cereal box, and some masking tape that will peel clean off your telescope or camera.
