This allows an astrophotographer a rich selection of targets well placed for shooting all night long. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among these targets are the large emission nebulae&#8230; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.darkerview.com\/scripts\/query.php?M17\">M17<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.darkerview.com\/scripts\/query.php?M16\">M16<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.darkerview.com\/scripts\/query.php?NGC4628\">NGC4628<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.darkerview.com\/scripts\/query.php?NGC6334\">NGC6334<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.darkerview.com\/scripts\/query.php?NGC6357\">NGC6357<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.darkerview.com\/scripts\/query.php?SH2-54\">SH 2-54<\/a>, and a long list of others.  The brightest among these nebulae is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.darkerview.com\/scripts\/query.php?M8\">M8, the Lagoon nebula<\/a>, a rich and complex region of star formation, sweeps of gas, and dark globules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a new <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/H-alpha\">hydrogen-alpha<\/a> filter added to the camera&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/astronomy-imaging-camera.com\/product\/zwo-efw-8x-1-25-inch-or-7x-36mm\">filter wheel<\/a> it is time to re-image some of these old favorites.  The filter is a narrow-band filter allowing through a slice of the spectrum only a few nano-meters wide.
