{"id":29910,"date":"2024-08-11T12:57:18","date_gmt":"2024-08-11T22:57:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/darkerview.com\/wordpress\/?p=29910"},"modified":"2024-08-11T13:03:54","modified_gmt":"2024-08-11T23:03:54","slug":"a-better-sun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/darkerview.com\/wordpress\/?p=29910","title":{"rendered":"A Better Sun&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>After <a href=\"https:\/\/darkerview.com\/wordpress\/?p=29906\">yesterday&#8217;s unsatisfactory image<\/a> of the Sun I set out to do it right today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conditions were about the same, the telescope and camera the same, but no clouds cutting short my time at the camera.  I took a few video segments and processed these with AutoStakkert! to produce a stack of the best 900 frames out of 1800.  The result is a much better image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The image is more representative of what you see at the eyepiece, with somewhat more detail visible to the eye.   These active sunspots have been the source of strong flares including at least one X class flare.
