Great information on a fine instrument. I used some of the information to get my 1976 Cave 6″ f/8 telescope going. SO happy to get it operational. I thought I had a bad motor, but it turns out all it needed was an adjustment to the clutch. I have the same mount as came on the 10″ f/5. Rock solid. So happy. Thanks so much.

Welcome! I was in the driveway using the Astrola this morning, it remains a fun telescope and sees constant use.
By the way, My mount looks very similar to the one on the 8″ Cave.
