Can people who do not work on the Mauna use their drones for aerial photography at Hale Pohaku as well?
Not right around the buildings, that is UH managed land and they enforce a no drone zone. Get across the street or more than a hundred yards away from the buildings and you are on DLNR forest reserve. Forest reserve is still legal, at least for now, the DLNR is trying to require a permit for drone use, but so far those rules have not been formally adopted.
