Downpour

It looks like it may clear. There should be a few dark hours before moonrise. Maybe I can get the new astrophoto rig out and get everything working properly.

<Commence tropical downpour>

Nothing like two tenths of an inch of rain in half an hour to put a damper on astronomical plans.

Maybe it will clear later.

  1. Andrew- Nice looking mount! Is that new or have I missed your telling us about it? And why is it tilted over so low! Just kidding, 19 degrees isn’t much when you are mostly at higher latitudes. How well does it work, or is that why you are waiting for clear skies??? -Dean

  2. Yeah, new mount. Looking to assemble a small and relatively portable astrophoto setup for travel. Had it for almost two weeks and had one mediocre night with it, the weather has been lousy, clouds or thin clouds with moonlight. Keck lost all of last night to weather as well.

    More on the blog about the new mount soon, or as soon as I actually get to use it.
